Injury and Illness Prevention Programs for Small Businesses

LOHP conducts half-day trainings for small business owners and managers to help them to develop and implement an effective health and safety program at your workplace that meets the requirements of Cal/OSHA’s Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) standard. These trainings are conducted as part of the state’s Worker Occupational Safety and Health Training and Education Program. LOHP conducts these trainings in collaboration with trainers from Cal/OSHA Consultation Service and State Compensation Insurance Fund.

Specifically, attendees learn about:

  • Meeting Cal/OSHA requirements and expectations for an effective IIPP
  • How to identify and solve common health and safety problems in their workplace
  • Steps for investigating work-related accidents, injuries and illnesses when they occur
  • Ways to involve their employees in your safety program


LOHP has also tailored these trainings for staffing agencies that place temp workers in other workplaces; employers in the roofing industry; and employers in the auto industry.
